Paul is an Emergency Management practitioner, with broad experience in planning, exercising and drilling, plan validation, risk management, crisis management and business continuity. He is an effective analyst, communicator and negotiator, able to build confidence with stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes.
He has been involved as a professional in the Emergency Management (EM) field for 21 years, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in the Emergency Management arena through his employment as a permanent officer of the Victoria State Emergency Service and Emergency Management Coordinator for the Port of Melbourne Corporation. Well versed in current EM philosophies and applications he has been involved with EM at all levels of Government and across a broad range of enterprises. He has a sound knowledge of emergency management in healthcare enterprises gained through employment as Emergency Management Coordinator at the Alfred and Royal Children’s hospitals together with the role of Business Continuity Coordinator with Epworth HealthCare.
Paul has broad based expertise in the field of evaluating EM plans through the design and facilitation of scenario based exercises uniquely targeted to suit the environment within which the client operates. He has designed and conducted exercises for all levels of government, defence and the private sector, ranging from major public events through to small enterprises.
Paul was a member of an AUSAID sponsored EM Capacity Building delegation to South Africa.
In addition to formal qualifications Paul has completed numerous competencies including Emergency Management Australia’s, ‘Design and manage activities which exercise elements of emergency management’.
Paul is a recipient of the National Medal.
